Nadia Valvekens was born in Pretoria on the 5th
of March 1982 and grew up with her mother (Cecile) and younger
sister (Natasha) in Centurion. Although she is not living with
them anymore, she is still living in Centurion and spends a lot
of time with them.
Nadia attended Wierda Park Laërskool, where she had her first taste of drama.
She matriculated at Eldoraigne Hoërskool. At this stage she had already been involved
with drama for 12 years and was planning on pursuing a career of an actress. She enrolled
at Technikon Pretoria as a BA drama student.
In her 3 years at Technikon Pretoria she was involved in various stage productions
such as "Maid in the New South Africa" where she had the privilege of working with Clive
Morris. She received her diploma in 2003 and soon after had her first job in the industry
as a co-presenter with Riaan Venter on the DIY programme, "Nutsman" on SABC 2.
She moved on to portray a small
role in "Egoli" as a temp secretary. She continued to play small cameo
roles in various South
African productions until November 2004, when she got cast by Danie Odendaal as Nicole
Kannemeyer - a Jewellery Designer in "7de Laan". She completed her role as Nicole in February
2005 and has since been involved in exciting new productions such as
"Scandal" on E-TV.
Nadia considers her friends a very important part of her life and enjoys spending time with
them. She also loves travelling and absorbing new cultures.
Nadia's goal is to be successful in her career as an actress,
and to enjoy doing it.
