Vivian's main body of art comprises sketches
and portraits done in his preferred medium,
pencil. His art extends to his forensic work
where he does police sketches of criminals
and victims alike, both of people living and
deceased.
The technical precision of doing these
sketches requires not only a thorough
knowledge of anatomy and human nature, but
also creativity and insight, due to the fact
that often the likeness of a subject has to
be recreated from scraps of evidence -
whether it be from decomposed or damaged
human remains, eyewitness accounts or a
total reconstruction from a skeleton.
