About Coert Wiechers He was born in 1968, and grew up and went to school in Pretoria-North. After completing school and compulsory military service, Coert studied Visual Communication and Art History at the North-West University in Potchefstroom, where he graduated in 1992. He worked at Unisa from 1994 to 2007 as a multimedia specialist. Currently Coert works as an independent digital media producer from his studio in Centurion, and specialises in digital photography, video production, motion graphic art and multimedia. He is actively pursuing fine art and exhibits regularly. "Using digital technology as a creative tool, gives me the freedom to create and experiment outside the boundaries of the formal methods of artistic expression. Creative freedom however, should not be an excuse to create products that are lacking in technical execution and quality I’m hesitant to commit myself to a specific style or genre and believe that each project or individual work should dictate its own visual and stylistic identity." Apart from working as a media professional, he is also constantly busy with new creative projects and endeavours.
