and testing my faith -
Thank you for letting me explore a place
I forgot exists -
Thank you for showing me that there is still
beauty to behold -
Thank you for reminding me that I still
have dreams untold -
Thank you for giving me a glimpse of how
it could be -
Thank you for taking such a profound
interest in me.

Thank you for waking me up
to the challenges in the world -
Thank you for giving so much of yourself
even though your risk was untold -
Thank you for touching me in a way that matters
and
Thank you for holding my hand while I went through rough waters -
Thank you for showing me how lucky I could be -
Thank you for smiling so broad when you are around me -
Thank you for all the time and the space,
I know that God will bless you with amazing grace.

I regret that I will never get to be the one,
but please go through life knowing that you raised my
Expectations
Of those around me…
Friends, lovers, husbands, family and relations.
