PROCEDURE
The Accreditation Office
of the International Control Commission (CIC) is situated in
the Gary Player Clubhouse at Sun City. The function of the
CIC will be to examine the individual dossiers and to
validate the accreditation of the competitors and officials
as well as any possible changes or re-accreditation. The
CIC control guarantees the age, nationality, and the student
status of a competitor.
In order to participate at
a FISU event, competitors (athletes) should comply with the
following criteria based on Article 5.2 of the FISU
Regulations:
1. be
a national of the country they represent;
2. be
at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on 1st
January in the year of the event (i.e. must have been born
between 1st January 1980 and 31st
December 1990).
3. provide
an official document signed by the appropriate academic
authority that certifies his/her status as a full time
student registered for studies towards a degree or diploma
at a university or similar institute whose status as a
higher education institution is recognised by the national
academic authority of that country;
4. former
students of institutions mentioned above who have obtained
their academic degree or diploma in the previous year (i.e.
2007);
5. Pay
the required participation and registration fees due to the
Organising Committee and FISU.
Within 24 hours from
arrival at Sun City, the Head of Delegation (or appointed
representative) shall collect the passports and student
certificate of each participant, and report to the
Accreditation Office at the time he/she fixed with the FISU
CIC. There he/she will prepare the individual dossiers for
each participant. The individual dossiers shall contain the
following documentation in one of the working languages of
FISU:
Competitors
(Athletes):
1. Passport
(or a valid national Identity Document for South African
participants);
2. Individual
entry form (I-1) signed and stamped by the FNSU with photo;
3. FISU
Academic Eligibility Form signed and stamped by the
university and FNSU; or an original student card for 2008;
or certificate originating from the appropriate academic
authority certifying that the competitor is officially
registered for and pursuing a full-time course of study; or
original degree or diploma certificate for former students;
4. Accreditation
card prepared by the Organising Committee (without
lamination).
Officials:
1. Passport
(or a valid national Identity Document for South African
participants);
2. Individual
entry form (I-3) signed and stamped by the FNSU with photo;
3. Accreditation
card prepared by the Organising Committee (without
lamination).
After the control of the
documents by the CIC, the FISU CIC delegate shall receive
from each competing country the following FISU registration
fees in cash:
· effective
member associations - twenty (20) US Dollars per competitor
and official;
· non
member associations - forty (40) US Dollars per competitor
and official.
On the successful
completion of the accreditation process, signing of the
accreditation cards and payment of the registration fees,
the cards will be laminated and delivered to the Heads of
Delegations. Accreditation cards will only be issued to
competitors and officials whose dossiers have been approved
by the CIC.
At the first General
Meeting, the CIC delegate shall inform the Technical
Committee (CT) and the Organising Committee of the names of
accredited competitors. Within 24 hours, the International
Supervision, Control and Arbitration Committee (CISCA) shall
inform the FISU Secretariat of the names of those persons to
whom accreditation has been refused.
If the officials of a
delegation deliberately miss inform FISU about the
eligibility of a competitor(s), the team will be excluded
from further participation in the Championship. Such fraud
could be grounds for the termination of that country’s
membership of FISU.
Participants in the 12th
World University Golf Championship are required to always
keep their cards with them and be prepared to present them
for inspection by members of the CISCA or any other persons
authorised by them.
Team Managers in declaring
the starters of individual and team competitions, must also
list the accreditation card numbers of competitors next to
their names. Competitors in reporting to the start of any
individual or team competition must be prepared to show
their accreditation cards to the official in charge.
Accreditation cards may
not be transferred or lent to a third party under any
circumstances. Identity cards will admit the holders to
sports venues, official accommodation and any other
facilities or services agreed between the Organising
Committee, FISU and Sun City. The bearer of cards shall
further observe and agree to the following:
· comply
with all rules and regulations of FISU and the event;
· consent
to search and inspection for prohibited items and/or
confiscation of prohibited items.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE
The monetary unit in South
Africa is the South African Rand (R). Teams are advised to
do their foreign exchange at the O.R. Tambo International
Airport, Johannesburg before departing for Sun City. The
banks and foreign exchange bureaus at the Airport offer a
better exchange rate than found at Sun City. Most
international credit cards and traveller’s cheques are
accepted.
